AMM 3/c USNA William W. Addington entered the Navy in Nov., 1943, trained at Camp Waldron, Idaho; in Norman, Okla., Norfolk, Va. and Jacksonville, Fla.

ALDERMAN, CHESTER C.
Sgt. Chester C. Alderman, son of E. L. Alderman, Tyler. Entered Marines in Aug., 1938, trained in San Diego. Served in China, Bataan and Corregidor; prisoner of Japan for 3 vears, 9 mos., liberated in Sept., 1945. Has Dist. Unit Citation, Pres. Citation, China Service Ribbon, P.I. Lib. Ribbon with one Star, Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon with one Star, Pre-Pearl Harbor and American Defense Ribbons.

ALEXANDER. BILLY RAY
S 1/c Billy Rav Alexander, husband or former Margie Hile, graduated from Tyler H.S. Entered Navy in May, 1944 trained at various camps in United States. Served on Guam, Marshalls and Marianas.

ALEXANDER, JOHN E., JR.
Major John E. Alexander, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Alexander, Sr., graduated from Tvler H.S. Entered the Army in Aug., 1942, trained at Camp Barkeley, Texas and Carlisle Brks., Pa. Served in Wales and Austria.

ALEXANDER, B. M., JR.
Pfc. B. M. Alexander, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Alexander. Entered the service in Oct., 1942, trained at Camp Howze, Texas. Served in Southern France. Has Silver Star, Good Conduct Medal and Purple,Heart. Killed in action in France in March, 1945.

ALEXANDER, GLEN R.
SSMC 2/c Glen R. Alexander, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Alexander, husband of former Vola Rumbo; attended High School. Entered the service in March, 1944, trained in San Diego, Cal. Served in Hawaii.

ALFRED, DONALD A.
F/O Donald A. Alfred, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Alfred, husband of former Dorothy Chapman. Entered the service in Sept., 1943, trained at Sheppard Field, in St. Paul, Minn., Santa Ana, Cal., Las Vegas, Nev., San Marcos, Texas, Lincoln, Neb. and Alamogordo, N. M. Served on Tinian and Marianas. Awarded Air Medal, two Oak Leaf Clusters and the DFC.

ALLEN, JOE Y.
SF 2/c Joe Y. Allen. son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Y. Allen, husband of former Elizabeth Reid. Entered Navy in April, 1945, trained in Norfolk, Va. and Washington. Served in the Aleutians, Marianas and Ryukyus. Has Pacific Campaign Ribbon with two Battle Stars.

M 2/c Earl Bill Allen, son of Mrs. R. A. Allen, husband of former Dorothy Allen. Entered Navy in Feb., 1944, trained in Farragut, Idaho, San Bruno, Cal. and Mare Island, Cal. Served in Yokosuka, Japan.

ALLEN, JAMES S.
Pfc. James S. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Allen, husband of former Celia Shets. Entered the Army in January, 1942, trained at Sheppard Field, Texas and Jackson, Miss. Served in the European Theater. Received discharge, Sept., 1945. Awarded Dist. Unit Citation, ETO Ribbon with six Battle Stars.

ALLEN, THURMAN D.
Cpl. Thurman D. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Allen, Arkansas, brother of Mrs. G. W. Swinney, Tyler., attended Smith Co. Schools. Entered Army, 1941, trained at Camp Bowie, Texas, Camp Blanding, Fla. and Camp Edwards, Mass. Served in Africa, Italy.

Cox. Minor J. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Allen, Arkansas, brother of Mrs. G. W. Swinney, attended Smith Co. Schools Entered Navy, 1943, trained at USNATS, Corpus Christi and Rodd Field, San Diego, Cal. Served in the South Pacific.

Sgt. John M. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Allen, graduated from Arp H. S. Entered the Air Corps, Sept., 1941, trained at Lowery Field, Denver, Colo., Ft. Sam Houston and Cheyenne, Wyo. Served in the European Theater. Awarded the EPO Ribbon and Good Conduct.

ALLEN, RICHARD F.
T/Sgt. Richard F. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Allen, wife, the former Hortense Heady. Entered the Air Corps, 1940, trained at Chanute Field, Ill. Served in European Theater. Discharged Aug., 1945, and awarded the EAME Campaign Medal with seven Battle Stars, AD Medal, Dist. Unit Badge, and Good Conduct Medal.

Sgt. Edward Allen, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Allen. Entered the Army 14th Armored Division, April, 1942, trained at Camp Wolsters, Texas, Camp Chaffie, Ark., Camp Barkeley, Texas and Camp Campbell, Tenn. Served in France and Germany.

Lt. (j.g.) Eugene M. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Allen, husband of former Elizabeth Humble. Entered service, 1943, trained in San Diego, Cal. Served in New Caledonia, New Zealand. Pres. Citation.
