Fireman 2/c Charles' P. Bassett, son of A. M. Bassett, husband of former Helen Browning. Entered Navy in Feb., 1945, trained in San Diego, Cal. and Gulfport, Miss. Served in Hawaii.

BATEMAN, WILLIAM (BOB)
Bob Bateman, son of Mrs. Nets, Bateman, husband of former Betty Markel. Entered service in May, 1943, trained in Seattle, Wash. Served in Alaska, the Aleutians, Australia. Discharged in 1944.

BATEMAN, JOSEPH C.
Pfc. Joseph C. Bateman, son of Mrs. Neta Bateman, attended H.S. when he enlisted in 1942, trained at Las Vegas, N.M. and Roscrans Field, Mo. Served in England, France and Germany. Awarded the Good Conduct, ETO Orlando Base Unit Badge, four Stars.

BATEMAN, MARVIN U.
S/Sgt. Marvin U. Bateman, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Bateman, wife, the former Johnnie Holland. Entered in Jan., 1944, trained at Camp Fannin Texas and Atterbury, Ind. Served in England, France, Belgium and Germany. Awarded ETO Ribbon with Battle Stars and Pres. Citation.

BAUCK,CLAUD
Pvt. Claud Bauck, entered the Air Corps in Sept., 1942, trained at Camp Howze and Kessler Field, Miss. Discharged in Feb., 1943.

BAXTER, EMMITT R.
Pvt. Ernmitt R. Baxter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Baxter, Troup, attended Summerfield School. Entered Army In March, 1945, trained at Camp Wolters, Mineral Wells. Served in Japan.

BAKER,RAY W.
T/Sgt. Ray W. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs, W. L. Baker, husband of Mrs. Ruth Baker, of Montana. Entered Air Corps In 1942, trained at San Antonio, Texas, Great Falls, Mont. and Spokane, Wash. Served in Australia, New Guines, East Indies and the Philippines.

BARBER, OLIVER B.
M/Sgt. Oliver B. Barber, son of Mrs. L. C. Jenkins, Santa Monica, Cal., husband of former Elsie York, Tyter; graduate of Tyler H.S. Entered Air Forces in 1942, trained at Sheppard Field and Lowry Field Colo. and Clovis, N.M. Completed 23 missions over Tokyo. Has the Air Medal with three OLCs, one Battle Star and Dist. Flying Cross.

BEAIRD, HARRISON L.
BM 2/c Harrison L. 15,saird, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Beaird, husband of former Gretchen Algirs. Entered service In Dec., 1941, trained In New Orleans and Groton, Conn.

BEARD, JR., EARL R.
2nd Lt Earl R. Beard, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl B. Board, Sr., husband of former Dixie Wyatt. Entered service In 1942 as Aviation Cadet, commissioned at Luke Field Ariz. as Pursuit Pilot Inst. Course at Randolph Field and assigned as Basic Pilot at Mercado, Cal. and Bakersfield, Cal. Discharged in 1945.

T/Sgt. Henry E. Beaird, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Beaird, Sr. Entered Air Corps in March, 1942, trained at Sheppard Field, Army Air Field, Macon, Ga. and Alabama. Has Good Conduct Medal.

Pvt. Andrew T. Beam, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Beam, Troup, husband; of former Dorothy Dunn, Fort Worth. Attended Whitehouse H.S. Entered Army in 1941, trained at Camp Cooke, Cal., Camp Hood. Discharged.

Thurston 0. Beam, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Beam, Troup, graduated from Troup H.S. Entered Merchant Marine in 1944. Trained at Sheepshead Bay, N. Y. Servid in India, China, Australia, Africa and the Philippines.

BEAM, JAMES L.
Pvt. James L. Beam, son of Mrs. Sara Ann Beam, attended school at Eureka. Entered service In 1942, trained at Camp Toccoa, Camp McCall, N. C. and Ft. Benning, Ga. Served in England, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. Combat Inf. Badge. ETO Ribbon with four Battle Stars and Pres. Unit Citation.

BEAM, LOFTON B.
S 1/c Lofton B. Beam, son of Mrs. Sarah Ann Beam, Tyler. Attended school at Eureka. Entered service in 1944 in Navy. Trained in San Diego and Oxnard, Cal. Served on Pearl Harbor and Tinian Islands.

Pfc. Commer Beam, son of Mrs. Sarah Ann Beam, wife, the former Marzetta Wilson. Attended Eureka Schools. Entered Army in 1944, trained at Camp Wolters and Camp Swift, Texas. Served in Italy. Awarded Combat Inf. Badge, ETO Ribbon with two Battle Stars.

Sgt. John R. Beard, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Beard husband of former Eunice Hancher, England. Attended Tyler H.S. Entered service in 1943, trained at Chanute Field, 111. and Sioux City, Iowa. Served in European Theater of Operations, England. Awarded Pres. Citation, ETO Ribbon with six Battle Stars, Good Conduct Medal. Discharged in Nov., 1945.
